July 2018 News
July was our first full month of operation in both of our two locations! Hopefully everyone has had the chance to check them both out, as well as all our different programs, with all our phenomenal instructors. Our instructors are all loving the vibes of classes and attendance is getting better everyday. Summer is a slow time for us, but the student base is growing every week! The next few months are going to be extremely busy for us as a business so stay tuned for what we have coming!
RECENT/UPCOMING EVENTS
JULY 21: at the NextGen Jiu-Jitsu event in Toronto team New Era sent 8 competitors and returned with 6 medals. Congrats to all. Podium finishes or not, we want to represent ourselves as a classy, skilled, and respectful group. We will not tolerate anything less on the mats!
AUGUST 2: Alex O’Neil took Montreal by storm last week defeating a skilled opponent from across the river in Gatineau via split decision. Alex improved his professional MMA record to 3-0! Congratulate Alex next time you see him in the gym training. If you haven’t seen his post fight victory picture, do yourself a favour and check it out! Pretty epic!
AUGUST 5: Cooper “The Poster Boy” Brindle competed on behalf of New Era and Team Canada at the IFMA Youth Worlds in Thailand this past Sunday. What an accomplishment for the Brindle & New Era family! Cooper fought hard and went the distance in a three-round fight – with the decision going to a tough competitor from Kazakhstan.

Fight Factory Promotions
November 24th we will be bringing live Muay Thai to Lansdowne Park! The rebranded edition of Fight Factory Promotions will be ripping up the Ottawa fight and entertainment scene, just like it did 14 years ago in the Cambridge/GTA area! This event will be a spectacular show of local & New Era Muay Thai talent. We cannot wait. Stay tuned and hit us up for early sponsorship opportunities, tables, and VIP seating options!

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
Starting on September 18th, the first day of our after-school program will be off the ground! This program will include Muay Thai & BJJ lessons, school pickups, homework time and much more! Stay tuned for more details on this exciting venture for our Kanata location. If you are interested in more details on this program, please email us at tracy@neweracombat.com.
TIP OF THE MONTH:
“The only way to make knowledge into skill is practicing. Knowing and doing are two different things. Got on the mat and be a do’er!
— KRU JEFF
“Winning feels good but losing is what truly fuels us to become better. Push your limits, get out of your comfort zone, and put it all on the line. Your Jiu-Jitsu will thank you.”
— PROFESSOR PETER
