October 2018 News
October was definitely one of the busiest months we have had at New Era Combat Sports! I am sure most of you can tell based on class sizes and we couldn’t be happier! New faces, old familiar faces, and good vibes everyday! This has been an outstanding month for the New Era family so here is the rundown of it all!
RECENT/UPCOMING EVENTS
OCT 20: The Ottawa BJJ Open was a fantastic event for Professor Peter’s pupils. Some medals, some smiles, and most importantly, lots of competitors! Win or lose, putting the work in at the gym and showing up to compete is what it is all about.
OCT 20 & 21: Taylor McClatchie & Brandon Uguccioni represented New Era Combat Sports in Markham, Ontario at the 2018 Muay Thai Canadian Nationals. Taylor left a national champion (yet again) and Brandon competed in his 1st ever Muay Thai fight after just a few short months of training. Congratulations to both fighters who represented well, as well as Kru Jeff for being a great coach/corner as always.
NOV 17: NextGen Jiu-Jitsu will be off the hook! With already 10+ competitors signed up and some of our elite young prospects, New Erawill be looking to take home gold! Talk to Professor Pete for more details and get signed up!
NOV 24: Live at Lansdowne. We will blow the roof off of the Aberdeen Pavilion and we hope you can all be there to help share in what will be a memorable evening. See you all there!
DEC 7: TKO 45 will be held at the famous Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec. Featured on this card will be our very own Mateo Vogel, Matar Lo, and Adam Hunter! Mateo looks to keep his record perfect, picking up his 3rd consecutive victory inside the TKO octagon while Matar & Adam look to get back in the win column! Tickets will be for sale at New Era shortly.

Ashley Nichols: Glory 61
Ashley will be competing under New Era Combat Sports for the first time this Friday, November 2nd at 7:30pm in Glory 61. Making the trip to NYC with Ashley will be coach/teammates Yuki Yamanaka & fellow glory competitor, Rob Thomas. On the other side of the ring will be a seasoned veteran from Thailand who has compiled 91 wins in 109 bouts. Tune in on UFC Fight Pass to see what will be an action packed 3 rounds! We are all with you Ashley!

1-Year Anniversary Sale
Can you believe it? Neither can we! In approximately 3 weeks we will have officially been in business for 1-year as a franchise! Our first year has been something none of us will forget. Having said that, our 1-year anniversary means some of your memberships are expiring! Take advantage of our grand opening introductory price until November 20th. After November 20th our prices will be increasing for 2019. If you have any questions on how this will work or simply to find out when your membership expires, please ask at the front desk or simply send an email or phone call.
TIP OF THE MONTH:
“Do or do not; there is no try” -Yoda
– KRU JEFF
“Listen to your body and don’t look at Jiu-Jitsu as a race. It is a never ending journey that you need to stay healthy for to enjoy. If something is bugging you, it is okay to take some to time rehab to come back stronger in the end!”
— PROFESSOR PETER
